Issues addressed
The toolkit directly addresses the impact of climate change on tourism, and more specifically, the difficulties in planning climate action at regional/destination level, which hinders action.
Added value of the result
The toolkit builds on an existing document, the Blueprint for Climate Action Plans, complementing it in a very practical manner, and making the combination of both, a powerful tool for tourism destinations. Considering the lack of practical guidance on this topic at hand for destination managers, the Toolkit is a valuable resource.
Transferability potential
The toolkit is a ready to use, fully editable Excel-based resource. The outcomes of applying it will differ from one destination to another, since no two Climate Action Plans are alike and each team has its own capacities, interests, and level of stakeholder involvement. However, the toolkit offers enough flexibility and personalisation to support every destination in developing a Climate Action Plan that is both feasible and tailored to its specific context.
