Issues addressed
Broadly, this Manual addresses the impacts of climate change on coastal tourism destinations by providing guidelines on the implementation of a specific solution, nature-based solutions.
Added value of the result
There are existing frameworks to understand NbS, such as the IUCN Global Standards, but this manual provides also guidance on the whole process: from design of NbS, to implementation, and monitoring.
Transferability potential
The Manual has been specifically developed for the six pilot destinations, to help the project partners with the integration of NbS in their tourism climate action plans. In that sense, the methodology is adaptable and does not necessarily have to start from step one, as it will depend on the degree of progress of each pilot. Outside of the project scope, it can be considered as a transferable tool, although being very technical and oriented to one type of solution.
